Oliver Coppard

Oliver Coppard is a British politician serving as the Mayor of South Yorkshire since 2022. A member of the Labour and Co-operative Party, he was educated at the University of Leeds and previously worked in political advocacy and campaigning, including roles in the 2016 EU referendum remain campaign. As Mayor, he has focused on regional transport reform, notably bringing the Sheffield Supertram under public control, and social initiatives such as funding safe sleeping spaces for young children. He resides in Sheffield and is active in local community leadership.
