Oscar Malapitan

Oscar Gonzales Malapitan is a Filipino politician currently serving as the representative for the 1st District of Caloocan in the House of Representatives of the Philippines, a position he has held since 2022 and previously from 2004 to 2013. Throughout his extensive political career, he has served as the Mayor of Caloocan from 2013 to 2022, Vice Mayor from 2001 to 2004, and as a City Councilor. During his tenure as mayor, he focused on local healthcare and education initiatives, though his administration faced scrutiny regarding the city's role in the national war on drugs. He remains a prominent figure in Caloocan politics and continues to chair the House Committee on National Defense and Security.
