Pål Jonson is a Swedish politician who has served as the Minister for Defence since 2022. A member of the Moderate Party, he previously served as a member of the Riksdag for Värmland County. Jonson holds a Ph.D. in military science from King's College London and has an extensive background in security policy, having worked as an analyst at the Swedish Defence Research Agency and as a political advisor. During his tenure as Minister for Defence, he oversaw Sweden's accession to NATO and the expansion of military support to Ukraine.
