Pargat Singh is an Indian politician and former professional field hockey player who serves as a Member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly representing the Jalandhar Cantonment constituency. Widely recognized as one of India's finest full backs, he captained the Indian men's hockey team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. After transitioning from sports and serving as a Superintendent of Police with the Punjab Police, he entered politics, initially winning election with the Shiromani Akali Dal before joining the Indian National Congress.
