박관열

Park Gwan-yeol is a South Korean politician currently serving as the 9th Mayor of Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. Born in Jangseong, South Jeolla Province, he overcame early financial hardships to pursue education in his 40s, eventually earning a bachelor's degree in economics from Kangnam University and a master's degree in political science from Korea University. Before his election as mayor, he served as a member of the 10th Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly, where he focused on regional development, basic income policies, and transportation infrastructure. A member of the Democratic Party of Korea, he has held various party roles, including special advisor to the party leader on local autonomy and policy committee vice-chair, and has been recognized for his commitment to community service and fiscal efficiency.
