Park Heong-joon is a South Korean politician, educator, and former journalist who served as the Mayor of Busan from 2021 to 2026. A prominent conservative figure, he previously served as a member of the National Assembly for Suyeong and held high-level positions in the Lee Myung-bak administration, including Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs. Before entering politics, he was a professor of sociology at Dong-A University and a journalist. Known for his background in student activism during the 1980s, he transitioned into conservative politics in the 1990s and became a well-known political commentator on television programs such as 'Battle of Tongues'.
