Pascal Bugis is a French politician who served as the Mayor of Castres for twenty-five years, from 2001 until 2026. A member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP), he was first elected after a campaign centered on addressing local insecurity and crime. During his long tenure, he also served as the president of the Castres-Mazamet intercommunal council. Known for his active presence in local political discourse, he oversaw significant urban development projects and infrastructure initiatives in the region. He did not seek re-election in the 2026 municipal elections, marking the end of his quarter-century leadership in the city.
