Patricia Billie Miller is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Connecticut State Senate representing the 27th district. Elected in a 2021 special election, she holds the distinction of being the first woman and the first person of color to represent the city of Stamford in the State Senate. Prior to her tenure in the Senate, Miller served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from 2008 to 2021, where she was also the first Black person to represent Stamford in the state legislature. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for her constituents, occasionally breaking with her party on specific legislation, such as her 2022 vote against the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act, where she expressed concerns regarding the lack of economic support for family planning options.
