Patricia Scotland, Baroness Scotland of Asthal, is a Dominican-British barrister and politician who serves as a life peer in the House of Lords. A prominent member of the Labour Party, she previously held several ministerial positions in the UK government, including Attorney General for England and Wales and Advocate General for Northern Ireland. From 2016 to 2025, she served as the sixth Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, becoming the first woman to hold that post.
