Patsy McGlone is an Irish politician who has served as a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly (MLA) for Mid Ulster since 2003. A member of the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP), he previously held the position of Deputy Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly from 2016 to 2024 and served as Deputy Leader of the SDLP from 2010 to 2011. Before his tenure in the Assembly, he was a councillor on the Cookstown District Council for sixteen years. In May 2026, McGlone announced his intention to retire from the Assembly at the end of the current mandate.
