Paul Sherrell

Paul Sherrell is an American politician serving as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives for District 43. First elected in 2016 after defeating a Democratic incumbent, he has since been re-elected to represent his district. During his tenure, he has served as the Majority Floor Leader for the Tennessee House Republicans and has been a member of several committees, including the Judiciary and Health committees. In 2023, he faced significant public criticism and calls for resignation following controversial remarks regarding execution methods, for which he later apologized. He has also been a vocal supporter of party-led efforts to expel Democratic lawmakers for decorum violations.
