Paula Hicks-Hudson is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Ohio Senate for the 11th district, a position she has held since 2022. Before her tenure in the state legislature, she served as the Mayor of Toledo, Ohio, becoming the first African American woman to hold that office. Her career in public service began on the Toledo City Council in 2011, where she eventually served as council president. A lawyer by profession, she was admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association in 1982 and previously specialized in business, education, and disability law.
