Doris Matsui

Doris Matsui is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for California's 7th congressional district since 2005. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been a prominent advocate for healthcare reform, environmental protection, and technology innovation, notably serving as the ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology. Before her election to Congress, Matsui worked as a government affairs consultant and served in the Clinton Administration as a deputy assistant to the president. Throughout her tenure, she has focused on expanding access to mental health services, promoting renewable energy, and advancing digital equity.
