Paulo Dantas is a Brazilian politician currently serving as the Governor of Alagoas. Born in Maceió, he is the son of former Legislative Assembly president Luiz Dantas. He began his political career as the mayor of Batalha, serving from 2005 to 2012. In 2022, he was indirectly elected by the Legislative Assembly to complete a term as governor, and subsequently won a full term in the 2022 general elections. He is affiliated with the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB).
