Peio Dufau

Peio Dufau is a French politician, trade unionist, and railway worker who serves as a Member of the National Assembly for the 6th constituency of Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Elected in 2024 as the first abertzale (Basque regionalist) deputy since 1962, he is affiliated with the Euskal Herria Bai party and sits with the Socialist group in the Assembly. Prior to his parliamentary career, he worked for the SNCF and was a municipal councilor in Ciboure. Dufau is known for his advocacy on issues such as rail freight, the defense of public services, and social justice, including his opposition to pension reforms.
