Peter George

Peter George is an Australian politician and journalist who currently serves as a Member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly for the electorate of Franklin. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished career as a foreign correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, reporting from major international conflict zones. A prominent environmental advocate, George campaigned on platforms opposing the construction of the Macquarie Point Stadium, calling for an end to the expansion of industrial salmon farming in Tasmanian waters, and advocating for the protection of native forests. He is also a vocal proponent of reforming the state's Integrity Commission to improve government accountability.
