Peter Kmec is a Slovak diplomat and politician currently serving as a member of the National Council of Slovakia. A graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, he previously served as the Slovak ambassador to Sweden and the United States. In 2020, he was elected to the National Council and later joined the Voice – Social Democracy party. He served as Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery Plan and Knowledge Economy in Fico's Fourth Cabinet until his resignation in November 2025.
