Peter James Martin is a Northern Irish politician who has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for North Down since July 2024. A member of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), he previously served as a local councillor on the North Down Borough Council and later the Ards and North Down Borough Council, representing various districts between 2011 and 2023. Between 2020 and 2023, he stepped away from elected office to work as an advisor to the then-Education Minister Peter Weir. Upon his appointment to the Assembly, Martin emphasized his commitment to representing the interests of North Down and serving as a pro-Union voice within the chamber.
