Peter Styles

Peter Styles is an Australian politician currently serving as the Lord Mayor of Darwin, having been elected in 2025. Before entering local government, he served as a member of the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly for the electorate of Sanderson from 2008 to 2016, where he held various cabinet positions including Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Business. A former police officer who served for 27 years, Styles is an independent politician who previously represented the Country Liberal Party. He is known for his advocacy for voluntary euthanasia, a position he adopted following the death of his wife in 1989.
