A member of the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party (KDU-ČSL), he previously served as deputy mayor of Brno from 2016 to 2022 and as deputy chairman of his party from 2019 to 2024. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in municipal politics in Brno and national environmental governance.
