Philip Cortez

Philip Cortez is an American politician and military officer currently serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 117. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served on the San Antonio City Council from 2007 to 2012. Cortez is also a captain in the Air Force Reserve, having transitioned from an enlisted airman. Throughout his legislative career, he has navigated several competitive election cycles, losing his seat in 2014 before successfully reclaiming it in 2016 and continuing to serve in the state legislature.
