Philip Ramos

Philip Ramos is an American politician currently serving as a member of the New York State Assembly, representing the 6th District which includes parts of Islip, Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central Islip, and Islandia in Suffolk County. Born in 1956, Ramos previously worked as a therapy aide at the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center, an emergency medical technician, and a Suffolk County police officer, where he served in the narcotics unit as an undercover officer and later as a detective. First elected to the Assembly in 2002, he has since focused on legislative work involving labor, local government, education, and aging issues.
