Phillip Thompson is an Australian politician serving as the Member of the House of Representatives for the Division of Herbert since 2019. A former soldier who served in East Timor and Afghanistan, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his service to veteran welfare. In parliament, he has focused on defence personnel issues and Indigenous affairs. Following a 2026 leadership spill, he was appointed Shadow Minister for Defence Industry and Shadow Minister for Defence Personnel.
