Pradan Baruah is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, representing the Lakhimpur constituency in Assam. He first entered the Lok Sabha in November 2016 following a by-election victory for the seat vacated by Sarbananda Sonowal. Prior to his tenure in the national parliament, Baruah served as a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly representing the Dhemaji constituency. Originally a member of the Indian National Congress, he defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2016 alongside Himanta Biswa Sarma. He continues to be an active political figure within the state of Assam.
