A four-time MLA, he has previously held the position of Minister of State for Revenue and Rehabilitation in the Maharashtra government. The son of veteran Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sundarrao Solanke, he has also served as the Vice-President of the Nationalist Congress Party in the Maharashtra region and has been involved in leadership roles within local cooperative sugar factories and educational institutions.
