Rémi Cardon is a French politician serving as a Senator for the Somme department since 2020. Born in Amiens in 1994, he became the youngest senator in the history of the Fifth Republic upon his election at age 26. A member of the Socialist Party, he has been active in local politics from a young age and previously served as the first secretary of the Socialist Party federation in the Somme. His legislative work includes advocating for social policies such as lowering the age of eligibility for the Active Solidarity Income (RSA) to 18. He is a staunch supporter of Olivier Faure within the party.
