Raghunath Vishwanath Deshpande is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly for the Haliyal constituency. A long-serving legislator and nine-term MLA, he has held various ministerial portfolios in the Karnataka government, including Minister for Medium and Heavy Industries and Minister for Revenue. He began his political career within the Janata Parivar before joining the Indian National Congress in 1999. Known for his focus on industrial development and tourism policy, he has also served as the pro tem Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly and currently chairs the Administrative Reforms Commission with Cabinet Minister rank.
