Rebecca Kassay is an American politician serving as a member of the New York State Assembly for the 4th District since 2025. Born in Stony Brook and raised in St. James, New York, she earned a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 2010. Prior to her election to the State Assembly, where she unseated incumbent Ed Flood in 2024, Kassay served as a Village trustee in Port Jefferson starting in 2020 and later as the deputy mayor of the village.
