Rebecca Seawright is an American politician serving as the Assembly member for the 76th District of the New York State Assembly, representing portions of Manhattan including the Upper East Side, Roosevelt Island, and Yorkville. First sworn into office in 2015, she has focused on consumer protection, banking, and judiciary issues, notably chairing the Subcommittee on Consumer Fraud Protection. Prior to her legislative career, she worked as a staffer in the New York State Assembly, served as the New York State Director of the National Women's Political Caucus, and held positions in Washington, D.C., including work for U.S. Senator Lloyd Bentsen. She is also active in academic and advocacy board roles, including with The Feminist Press at CUNY.
