René Claassen

René Claassen is a Dutch politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in 1971, he spent over two decades working as a hospital nurse and later as a healthcare educator and manager at the Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. He entered politics in 2019, serving on the Provincial Council of Limburg and the municipal council of Landgraaf before his election to the national parliament in 2023. Initially representing the Party for Freedom (PVV), he joined the newly formed Markuszower Group in 2026 following disagreements over party leadership. His political focus includes healthcare policy and regional economic issues.
