Richard James Baker is a Scottish politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Glenrothes and Mid Fife since 2024. Previously, he served as a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the North East Scotland region from 2003 to 2016, during which time he held roles in the Labour Shadow Cabinet. Before his parliamentary career, he was active in student politics and worked for the charity Age Scotland. In 2026, Baker publicly called for the resignation of Labour leader Keir Starmer, citing concerns over his leadership.
