Robert Rita

Robert Rita is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 28th District, a position he has held since 2003. A member of the Democratic Party, he also serves as the Calumet Township Democratic committeeman and as a trustee on the township board. Throughout his legislative career, Rita has prioritized economic redevelopment, equitable school funding, and the expansion of health care availability. He is a professional Operating Engineer and a member of Local #150, bringing his labor background to his work in the state legislature where he chairs the Executive Committee.
