Roberto Morassut is an Italian politician and long-serving member of the Chamber of Deputies, first elected in 2008. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the Councilor for Urban Planning in Rome under Mayor Walter Veltroni, where he oversaw the approval of the city's General Regulatory Plan. Between 2019 and 2021, he held the position of Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of Land and Sea. Throughout his career, Morassut has focused on urban planning reform, social security, and infrastructure development. He currently serves as the Vice President of the 9th Transport, Post and Telecommunications Commission and is involved in parliamentary inquiries regarding urban safety and historical cases.
