Roy Barreras is a Colombian politician, medical doctor, and 2018 presidential candidate who served as a senator from 2010 to 2023 and as President of the Senate of Colombia from 2022 to 2023. A centrist figure and ardent supporter of the Colombian peace process, he began his legislative career in the Chamber of Representatives in 2006. Throughout his political life, he has balanced conservative stances on security and crime with progressive social advocacy.
