Ruth Anderson, Baroness Anderson of Stoke-on-Trent, is a British Labour Party politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2022. Previously, she served as the Member of Parliament for Stoke-on-Trent North from 2015 to 2019. Before entering Parliament, she held various roles in public relations and advocacy, including positions with the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre and the anti-racism group Hope not Hate. Throughout her career, she has been a vocal advocate for freedom of speech and has served as the chief executive of Index on Censorship. She is also an Honorary Captain in the Royal Naval Reserve.
