Louise Haigh is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Sheffield Heeley since 2015. A member of the Labour Party, she held various shadow cabinet positions, including Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and Shadow Secretary of State for Transport. Following the 2024 general election, she was appointed Secretary of State for Transport in the Starmer ministry. She resigned from this cabinet position in November 2024 following the emergence of details regarding a 2014 conviction for fraud by false representation. Throughout her career, Haigh has focused on transport reform, digital policy, and policing, and she remains an active Member of Parliament.
