Ryan Fecteau is an American politician serving as the Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives. First elected to the Maine House in 2014, he made history as the youngest active state Speaker in the United States and the first openly gay person to hold the position when he was first elected to the role in 2020. A native of Biddeford, Maine, Fecteau has focused his legislative career on affordable housing, healthcare access, and career and technical education. After a brief hiatus due to term limits, he returned to the legislature in 2024 and was re-elected as Speaker.
