Salifou Modi

Salifou Modi is a Nigerien military officer and politician currently serving as the Minister of National Defense. A career soldier, he previously served as the Chief of Staff of the Nigerien Armed Forces from 2020 to 2023. Following the 2023 Nigerien coup d'état, he became a prominent member of the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP). Prior to his current ministerial role, he held various military leadership positions and briefly served as the Ambassador of Niger to the United Arab Emirates.
