Sally Hamwee

Sally Hamwee, Baroness Hamwee, is a British Liberal Democrat politician and a life peer in the House of Lords. Admitted as a solicitor in 1972, she practiced law for many years before entering national politics. She served as a councillor in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames from 1978 to 1998 and was a prominent member of the London Assembly from its establishment in 2000 until 2008, serving multiple terms as its chair. Since her appointment as a life peer in 1991, she has held various leadership roles within the House of Lords, including chairing the Justice and Home Affairs Select Committee and serving as a long-term party spokesperson on home affairs and local government.
