Sam Jenkins

Samuel Lee Jenkins Jr. is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Louisiana Senate for the 39th district, having assumed office in January 2024. Prior to his election to the Senate, he represented the 2nd district in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2016 to 2024, where he also served as the House Minority Leader from 2020 to 2024. A graduate of Southern University, Jenkins has been a vocal advocate for preventative crime measures, frequently expressing concerns regarding the potential for increased incarceration rates resulting from state-level legislative sessions.
