Sam Jones

Samuel Leon Jones is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives for District 99. A member of the Democratic Party, Jones previously made history as the first African-American mayor of Mobile, Alabama, serving two terms from 2005 to 2013. His political career also includes four terms as a Mobile County Commissioner. Before entering politics, Jones served nine years in the U.S. Navy and worked as the executive director of Mobile Community Action, Inc. Throughout his career, he has focused on government efficiency, public safety, and economic development.
