Born on October 17, 1960, in Lahore, Pakistan, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Punjab in 1999. He previously served as a member of the provincial assembly from 2002 to 2007 representing the Pakistan Peoples Party, and again from August 2018 to January 2023, subsequently returning to office in February 2024 as a candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League (N).
