Samuel Moroto

Samuel Chumel Moroto is a Kenyan politician and educator who serves as the Member of the National Assembly for Kapenguria Constituency. A career teacher and former trade unionist, he previously chaired the West Pokot branch of the Kenya National Union of Teachers. First elected to parliament in a 2001 by-election, he has served multiple terms and held the position of assistant minister for Public Health and Sanitation. Moroto is known for his advocacy regarding the settlement of Pokot squatters in the Chepchoina settlement scheme.
