Sanne Dijkstra-Downie

Sanne Dijkstra-Downie is a Scottish politician serving as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Edinburgh Northern since 2026. Originally from the Netherlands, she moved to Scotland to study at the University of Edinburgh and has resided in her constituency for over two decades. Before her election to the Scottish Parliament, she served as a councillor for the Forth ward on the City of Edinburgh Council, a position she was first elected to in 2022. As an MSP, she has been appointed as the Scottish Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Climate, Environment and Energy and Environment.
