Sarah Hogg, Viscountess Hailsham, is a British economist, journalist, and life peer who currently serves as a member of the House of Lords. Educated at the University of Oxford, she began her career in journalism, notably serving as an economics editor for The Independent and a presenter for Channel 4 News. She later headed the Prime Minister's Policy Unit under Sir John Major. In 1995, she was created a life peer and has since held significant roles in the business sector, becoming the first woman to chair a FTSE 100 company as Chairman of 3i Group. She has sat as a crossbencher in the House of Lords since 2010.
