Ryuji Satomi is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Aichi Prefecture constituency. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, he spent many years in the Ministry of Labour (now the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare) before entering politics. He has held various government roles, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office, Economy, Trade and Industry, and Reconstruction. In October 2025, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense in the House of Councillors. Throughout his career, he has focused on labor policy and regional revitalization, and he currently serves as the representative of the Komeito Aichi Prefectural Headquarters.
