Seyran Papo is a German-Kurdish politician and a member of the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein. Born in Cizre, Turkey, she immigrated to Germany as a child. Before entering politics, she worked as a self-employed interpreter and translator for courts and security authorities. Formerly a member of The Left party, she joined the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and was elected to the state parliament in 2022, becoming the first CDU representative with a Kurdish migration background in the Landtag. Her political focus includes security policy, drug policy, and the integration of migrants into the political process.
