Sezgin Tanrıkulu is a Turkish politician and human rights lawyer currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly. Born in Diyarbakır, he established his career as a prominent advocate for human rights, co-founding the Diyarbakır Human Rights Association and serving as president of the local bar association. Since joining the Republican People's Party (CHP) in 2010, he has been a vocal defender of minority rights, press freedom, and peaceful conflict resolution. He was elected to parliament in 2011 and has been re-elected multiple times, notably becoming the first CHP candidate to win a seat in Diyarbakır in over two decades during the 2023 general election.
