Shaneka Henson is an American politician and attorney serving as a member of the Maryland Senate for the 30th district since 2025. Previously, she served in the Maryland House of Delegates from 2019 to 2025 and as an alderwoman on the Annapolis City Council from 2017 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, Henson has focused her legislative career on issues such as maternal health, renter protections, and affordable childcare. She is the first African-American woman to represent Annapolis in the House of Delegates and Anne Arundel County in the Maryland Senate.
