Shanique Speight

Shanique Speight is an American politician currently serving as a member of the New Jersey General Assembly, representing the 29th Legislative District since 2018. She has held the position of Deputy Parliamentarian in the Assembly since 2022 and serves on several committees, including Aging and Human Services, where she acts as chair. Prior to her legislative career, she worked as an officer in the Essex County Sheriff's Office and served on the Newark Public Schools Advisory Board. Her political background also includes a brief, contested appointment to the Newark Municipal Council in 2012.
